Hey Jim,
This is the result

file /usr/lib/cr*.o
/usr/lib/crt1.o: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel 80386, version 1
(SYSV), not stripped
/usr/lib/crti.o: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel 80386, version 1
(SYSV), not stripped
/usr/lib/crtn.o: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel 80386, version 1
(SYSV), stripped

file /usr/lib64/cr*.o
/usr/lib64/crt1.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable, AMD x86-64, version 1
(SYSV), not stripped
/usr/lib64/crti.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable, AMD x86-64, version 1
(SYSV), not stripped
/usr/lib64/crtn.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable, AMD x86-64, version 1
(SYSV), stripped

I think the glibc is correct installed.
But /usr/lib64 isn't a -B<PATH>
Why is in this state ld and gcc from /usr/bin used? Why not from
/crosstool/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin?

Thanks
 Michael

The only it can be is that glibc didn't get installed. Let's verify that
with file /usr/lib/crt*.o
