Hi Matt,

I am using:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/clfs/view/cross-lfs/x86_64-64/final-system/perl.html
I have done:
echo "127.0.0.1 localhost $(hostname)" > /etc/hosts

A ping to 127.0.0.1 works fine. I am no perl expert, but from what I can guess
is it is doing some sort of udp ping, if that is possible?
