---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Slip number -----: 30 (Don't run lilo inside chroot)
Contact ---------: None
Problem ---------: Don't run lilo inside chroot
Opened by -------: gerard (Gerard Beekmans) on 03/12/2001 16:24
Assigned To -----: balu (Thomas Walter)
Current Status --: A (Active)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary:
This can causes severe problems like LILO not bootstrapping properly. Without a bootdisk the user will have a <sarcasm>great</sarcasm> time getting back into some kind of Linux system (either host or LFS)

This should be done using the host system's lilo. Add LFS to
your debian /etc/lilo.conf. Then
        cp /etc/lilo.conf $LFS/etc
        cp /boot/<all kernel images> $LFS/boot
        /sbin/lilo
        <reboot into LFS>

When in LFS you can run /sbin/lilo again so that the LFS lilo version is activated (probably a newer version than the host distro is using)
