Subject: glibc locales
Date: Sat, 9 Mar 2002 00:51:22 +0100 (CET)

Chapter 6, "Installing Glibc-2.2.5":

"An alternative to running make localedata/install-locales is to only
install those locales which you need or want. This can be achieved using
the localedef command. Information on this can be found in the INSTALL
file in the glibc-2.2.5 tree."

I think the INSTALL instructions expect that there is already a directory
/usr/lib/locale

This directory must be created before trying to install a locale, or else
you will get a confusing error message when executing localedef. Perhaps
this should be mentioned somewhere?
