Linux From Scratch: Version 20020321
Chapter 5. Preparing the LFS system

You mention libopcodes under the libraries
section, but there isn't any information
about what it does.

So, i found a page (from a redhat mailing list
of all things) which explains a little about
this library.

"This is a native library for dealing with
opcodes"

"libopcodes.a is of course used in the
course of building utilities such as objdump"

This information can be found here:
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/crossgcc/2001-04/msg00170.html

Not knowing what opcodes are, i found a list
of them here on a very yellow google cache page:

http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:9xs3IIcbcoIC:www.thomasbleeker.nl/exagone/WIN32ASM/tutor5.html+what+are+opcodes&hl=en

"Opcodes are the instructions for the processor.
Opcodes are actually "readable text"-versions of
the raw hex codes."
