Thanks for the bug report. However, this has been fixed already in CVS.

In chapter 6 - configure software you'll now create a defkeymap.map.gz symlink
and the loadkeys script is changed to run 'loadkeys -d' instead of having a
/etc/sysconfig/keyboard file. The kbd patch you apply has been verified to make
'loadkeys -d' work correctly.
