kmod.txt - info on the kernel module loader/unloader
    (kerneld replacement).

Haven't read this recently, but IIRC, kerneld is no longer the prefered
method. And I personally have not had need of it for NICs, SCSI HAs,
sound cards and so forth. I use a modules.conf and depmod -a and either
let the kernel automatically see that a load is needed, or I may also
manually insmod or modprobe (very seldom).
