Actually the correct term would be "revert to a real file as we used to do".

Once upon a time we used a real file. Then a lot of people complained about it 
and made a good case to change to a symlink. So we changed. Now those same 
people have come to agree the move wasn't such a good idea afterall, so we're 
moving back to our old setup. Feels like a yo-yo ;o)
