 loose ends following the removal of text wrapping and boot logging in
 functions.  boot_log() does nothing, well 'echo -n ""', as it should.
 It's left in so that old scripts don't break with the new functions file.
 This policy was decided a long time ago (compatible for two releases).
 The boot_log lines should be removed from the the udev script.  There is
 also one instance of it in rc that should be removed.
