 I think it's the best option to follow... trying to give consistent names
 to network devices in the chroot phase using the variety of proposed
 methods seemed a bit strange for me (and the reason why I always used the
 CLFS book for udev)

 LFS has an educational value, and trying to do the work for the users
 doesn't seem to be quite educational (from my personal point of view),
 although... device naming policies aren't specially the easiest part in
 the system configuration, but it's not that difficult. BLFS has a chapter
 for naming (for example) the CDRW drive and so on, giving a persistent
 name for the network card shouldn't be more difficult than that

 I see more coherent to write some text indicating some examples of rules
 to accomodate for a certain piece of network hardware, less work needed to
 keep the book advancing and more time to overcome other tickets & problems

 (but that's my opinion) ;)
