That guy does seem loopy and not care about standards.  The
dvdrtools is a branch made from cdrtools and to my knowledge
is not developed by Schilling.  It is released under the GPL
and hosted at the FSF at:
http://freesoftware.fsf.org/download/dvdrtools/
