Good morning all:

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST!!!!!!

I was trying to install bash for the first time and got the following error:

gcc -L./builtins -L./lib/readline -L./lib/readline -L./lib/glob -L./lib/tilde -L./lib/malloc -L./lib/sh -static -rdynamic  -O2 -mcpu=i686 -ch=i686 -o bash shell.o eval.o y.tab.o general.o make_cmd.o print_cmd.o  dispose_cmd.o execute_cmd.o variables.o copy_cmd.o error.o expr.o

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ltermcap
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [bash] Error 1
[root at localhost bash-2.04]#

So I proceeded with a post by Gerard which stated that we should first
install termcap and then ncurses on our normal linux system. termcap installed
properly without any error. However; during the make step for ncurses, I got
the following error:

make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/ncurses-5.1/c++'

Now I am puzzled and stuck but I will not give it up.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Linuxly yours
