echo -n "You should not read this error message. It means "
echo "that an unforseen error "
echo -n "took place and subscript $i exited with "
echo "return value $? for an unknown "
echo -n "reason. If you're able to trace this error down to "
echo "a bug in one of the files "
echo "provided by this book, please be so kind to inform us at "
        echo "lfs-discuss at linuxfromscratch.org"

These lines give the correct format on the screen with linebreaks in the
appropriate places.

If you'd add a -n to the echo on the 7th line the formatting is off. The
email address is just a bit too long to fit on the line starting with
"provided by this book"
