They're not part of LFS no. Read HOWTO's like the ISP-Hookup-HOWTO and 
PPP-HOWTO which you can find at www.linuxdoc.org

These HOWTO's discuss where to download the packages and how to set things 
up. Most Linux software can be found on www.freshmeat.net. In the odd case 
freshmeat doens't have it try linux.tucows.com
