make oldconfig takes an existing .config in your kernel directory and
configures the kernel accordingly. It will ask you only for new
questions which aren't answered (read: configured) in the kernel
config file.

So do a make config once and then save .config somewhere. Whenever you
have to create the dependencies in your kernel tree copy the saved
file back as .config and make oldconfig (no need to press enter,
everything is done automatically).
