Hi,

just a quick mail before i'm off to work.

I just finished with all the static software and entered the chroot'ed
enviroment.

configuring ed however gives the following:

kaneda:/usr/src/ed-0.2# ./configure --prefix=/usr
creating cache ./config.cache
checking whether ln -s works... yes
checking for ranlib... ranlib
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for POSIXized ISC... no
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether we are using GNU C... no
checking for working const... no
checking how to run the C preprocessor... /lib/cpp
checking whether cross-compiling... yes

checking for limits.h... yes
checking for memory.h... no
checking for string.h... no
checking for unistd.h... no
checking for locale.h... no

checking for sigaction... no
checking for strerror... no
checking for vprintf... no
checking for _doprnt... no
checking for working alloca.h... no
checking for alloca... no
checking whether alloca needs Cray hooks... no
checking stack direction for C alloca... 0
updating cache ./config.cache
creating ./config.status
creating Makefile
creating config.h

As you can see GCC is found (checking for gcc) but I am not using GCC ???
also lot's of header-files are not found.

configuring ed in the same directory before chroot gives:

kaneda:/mnt/lfs/usr/src/ed-0.2# ./configure --prefix=/usr
creating cache ./config.cache
checking whether ln -s works... yes
checking for ranlib... ranlib
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/ginstall -c
checking for POSIXized ISC... no
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether we are using GNU C... yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes
checking for working const... yes
checking how to run the C preprocessor... gcc -E
checking whether cross-compiling... no
checking for ANSI C header files... yes
checking for limits.h... yes
checking for memory.h... yes
checking for string.h... yes
checking for unistd.h... yes
checking for locale.h... yes
checking for setbuffer... yes
checking for sigsetjmp... no
checking for sigaction... yes
checking for strerror... yes
checking for vprintf... yes
checking for working alloca.h... yes

Any suggestions to what might be wrong?

Thank's

Donnie Roos (and now i'm off to work :-) )
