different gcc lib after chroot ?

Hi all,

I just finished installing GCC in the chroot'ed enviroment and noticed that
a different library is installed than when installing the LFS-GCC before
chroot (I compare the filesystem to find newer files/diferences).

Before the chroot the following lib (and link) is installed:

/usr/lib/libstdc++.a.2.10.0
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-linux-gnu/2.95.2/
libstdc++.a -> ../../../libstdc++.a.2.10.0

After chroot it is as follows:

/usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-2.a.3
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-linux-gnu/2.95.2/
libstdc++.a -> ../../../libstdc++-libc6.1-2.a.3

Since /usr/lib/libstdc++.a.2.10.0 is not overwritten in the new
install, can I safely delete it ? or is it still used (then why
dit the GCC install not overwrite it ?)

Is this difference because the first GCC install is linked statically
or because --enable-shared was not specified or ... ?

I was unable to extract this information from the configure script
or the Makefile.

Thanks,

Donnie Roos
