problem on reboot

Can anyone tell me, in which script would I find where the kernel memory is
freed? Perhaps then, if I could find out what the next line, function call,
or whatever is, I can figure where the unable to open initial console
message is coming from?

Just a thought..

Did the creating of /dev directory go allright? is $LFS/dev/console
there?
