cannot find username for UID 0

thank you Gerard, you solved that.

after reading lfs-book section "Copying old NSS library files", i had
not copied the files because my system uses glibc-2.1:
~$  ls -l /lib/libc*
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root       888596 May  1  2000 /lib/libc-2.1.3.so
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           13 Nov  3 19:44 /lib/libc.so.6 -> libc-2.1.3.so


maybe i misunderstood section "Copying old NSS library files" as
saying not to copy the files if our system uses glibc-2.1, but it
doesn't matter since you got me over that bump.
