stat is a function to find information about a file. In the version of ldconfig
I have (which comes from ld.so-1.9.9 in my case), the can't stat error is
followed by the filename it was trying to get information about, then a more
specific error message in brackets. (eg. can't stat libfoo (file not found) )
Did you not get anything in brackets?

..2 doesn't look like a valid filename, which suggests something went wrong in a
shell script (maybe a variable ended up with no value where it should have for
some reason).

Don't know if that helps much, but maybe it points you in the right direction.
