glibc 2.2 configure options

I think --enable-libio is default. Otherwise you won't be able to
compile
STLv2, which we have with gcc-2.95.2.
It looks like you missed my message about --enable-kernel,
you can probably find it in the mail archives. This one looks much
tasty.
BTW, don't be afraid. Why -O2 ? I run kernel-2.4.0 on reiserfs, and my
glibc-2.2 built with -O6 --enable-kernel=2.4.0 <g>
