shadow passwords

thanks for the help - yep, /etc/shadow certainly does exist :) ... you'd
think i'd know to check for that file as well after using linux for over 2
years but still *LOL*

i'm assuming that i'm all set to go now or do i need to create additional
files or change permissions ???

perhaps, gerard, if the how-to is getting outdated is it possible to
include the balance of the shadowing configuration in the book and refer to
the how-to for the whys and wherefores ?

anyway, at least i've got that one sorted now so thanks again ... next
question follows sraight away in another email *S*
