I am a newbie at lfs so please bear with me.

I'm following v2.4 and have gotten to the part "Installing GCC on the LFS
system"
and this particular command line

root:gcc-build# make -e LDFLAGS=-static bootstrap

The linux box, which is an old 586, 12M RAM, churned for a couple of hours
and came up with this

blah...blah
/usr/include/bits/pthreadtypes.h:66: previous declaration as 'typedef
struct pthread_condattr_t pthread_condattr_t"
/usr/include/pthread.h:149: invalid exception specifications
make[2]: *** [builtinbuf.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/lfs/usr/src/gcc-build/i486-pc-linux-gun/libio'
make[1]: *** [all-target-libio] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/lfs/usr/src/gcc-build'
make: *** [bootstrap} Error 2

What went wrong?

Shaggy

PS. I am using Slackware 7.0 (kernel upgraded to 2.2.16). The system
apparently
has egcs-2.91.66 (from running gcc --version)
