Because that's all you need strictly spoken. But there have been a few
cases where you needed to pass --host=i486 if you want to cross-compile
(and besides, the lfs-book does not deal with cross compiling, it
assumes you build for the native CPU), especially do that with Glibc as
it can potentially save you a lot of problems.
