command 2>&1 1> /path/filename

Although I've seen instances where that doesn't seem to work...

Subject: warnings while installing Binutils

When I install the Binutils in the non-chroot'ed environment I encounter the
following warnings:
- in 'make -e LDFLAGS=-all-static tooldir=/usr" :
pexecute.c:663: warning: variable `func' might be clobbered by `longjmp' or
`vfork'
pexecute.c:664: warning: `pid' might be used uninitialized in this function
pexecute.c:666: warning: variable `output_desc' might be clobbered by
`longjmp' or `vfork'
pexecute.c:667: warning: variable `retries' might be clobbered by `longjmp'
or `vfork'
pexecute.c:667: warning: variable `sleep_interval' might be clobbered by
`longjmp' or `vfork'

tin 'make -e prefix=$LFS/usr tooldir=$LFS/usr install' :
libtool: install: warning: remember to run `libtool --finish /usr/lib'
mkdir /mnt/lfs/usr/lib/ldscripts
(well not quite a warning, see below...)
My questions:
- is this 'normal' eg. can they be ignored?
- what's up with the 'libtool --finish /usr/lib' command?
- I've piped the normal output of make (install) into a file, but the
warnings keep popping up at my tty. Is there a way to pipe them into a file,
too? I need them for later evaluation...
