Boot messages problem

Ainsley and Richard,

It worked Ashley. I found your solution very exciting indeed! It's the first
time I've every hacked the kernel source (though this was an easy one :)).

Richard, I tried what you told, but it just switched from console to
console. Not exactly what I wanted.

Those lines are printed by the kernel, not by your modprobe, and
consequently
don't go through the normal redirection mechanism.
To disable them, you must hack the kernel source :) (It's easy, find
/usr/src/linux/drivers/net/ne2k-pci.c and remove the printk() lines, eg.
there's one in init_module. Be careful to remove the "if" if the printk was
the
only statement after it too.)
Then recompile the module.
