Although the -c -m# should also improve performance , I got max performance
with just -d1 in fairly extensive testing . However that was quite a while ago
.. Also my results are probably disk dependent. I tested with quantum
fireball ( 8gig + 20 gig) on a abit kt7 mb and a asus p2b mb.

btw , hdparm can result in wrecked fs .
