Syslogd never logs kernel messages

Hi,

try: kern.*  /var/log/kernel
(just for testing, because your logfile will be
flooded by the big amount of messages)
and dont't forget to restart syslogd:
kill -SIGHUP xxxx
xxxx=syslogd-pid

You can also use "dmesg" to look if the kernel produces
any messages
