Yes I have, check it out at
http://archive.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs-hints/devfs.txt . It contains
instruction on how to use it from scratch (when building your LFS-system),
and how to use it after you've build a LFS system. I find devfs a very clean
way of managing your devices since it only shows the files which correspond
to your actual hardware setup. Good luck!
