make: /usr/bin/gcc: file not found

Chapter 5: Installing GCC

"make LDFLAGS=-static bootstrap" Works fine for gcc-2.95.2, but
in gcc-2.95.3, the result is a dynamically linked /usr/bin/gcc,
and cryptic error messages like "make: /usr/bin/gcc: file not found"
in the chroot environment.

To get gcc-2.95.3 to compile static, use:
make BOOT_LDFLAGS=-static bootstrap
