I was just covering all bases before somebody might suggest it
killing an argument before it surfaces.

The only good way to hammer it out is by putting it in LFS-CVS for a while,
have lfs-dev people test it and then we'll see what happens next. But if
overall reports are the same as mine, which I highly suspect will be the
case (but I'm just human, a suspicion is just that: a suspicion), then
it'll stay and LFS-4 will start taking shape.
