GCC 3.1 and Ncurses compile problems

Wasn't gonna bother the list with this, but might be relevant...or not. I
posted the same message to lfs-support as well, so if this is an isolated
issue, lets kill this thread. ;) Anyway, I've also encountered an issue
with compiling vim6.1 using the commands from cvs20020518 and gcc-3.1.
Having not seen this issue anywhere on the archives, I'm going to assume for
now that it is an isolated ID ten T error ;-)

Heres the error text for anyone who might want to see it:

gcc -c -I. -Iproto -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DSYS_VIMRC_FILE=\"/etc/vimrc\" -g -O2
    -o objects/fileio.o fileio.c
fileio.c: In function `readfile':
fileio.c:473: `O_RDONLY' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:473: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
fileio.c:473: for each function it appears in.)
fileio.c: In function `buf_write':
fileio.c:2671: `O_CREAT' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:2671: `O_WRONLY' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:2671: `O_EXCL' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:2693: `O_RDONLY' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:3205: `O_APPEND' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:3205: `O_TRUNC' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c: In function `vim_rename':
fileio.c:4912: `O_RDONLY' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:4915: `O_CREAT' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:4915: `O_EXCL' undeclared (first use in this function)
fileio.c:4915: `O_WRONLY' undeclared (first use in this function)
make[1]: *** [objects/fileio.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/lfs/vim61/src'
make: *** [first] Error 2

could this be a missing include file? or missing include statement? I only
posted here because I thought this might have something to do with gcc-3.1
agian.

Have a look.

Thanks

D.J. Lucas
