If you have an Ada enabled compiler, and wish to build a new LFS
with Ada built from scratch, then this has been tested.

This was with a rebuilt gcc-3.1 in /usr/local/bin; it should
work with the Ada hint applied to the base system, but I have
not tested this.

Chapter 5

bash-2.05a$ cat chapter5/gcc-3.1
mkdir ../gcc-build &&
cd ../gcc-build &&
../gcc-3.1/configure --prefix=/usr --enable-languages=c,c++,ada \
   --with-slibdir=/lib --disable-nls --disable-shared
--enable-threads=posix &&
make BOOT_LDFLAGS=-static bootstrap &&
cd gcc   &&
make gnatlib_and_tools LDFLAGS=-static  &&
cd ..     &&
make prefix=$LFS/usr install &&
cd $LFS/lib &&
ln -sf ../usr/bin/cpp &&
cd $LFS/usr/lib &&
ln -sf ../bin/cpp &&
cd $LFS/usr/bin &&
ln -sf gcc cc
bash-2.05a$

Chapter 6

bash-2.05a$ cat chapter6/gcc-3.1
mkdir  ../gcc-build    &&
cd ../gcc-build &&
../gcc-3.1/configure --prefix=/usr --enable-shared \
 --with-slibdir=/lib  --enable-threads=posix &&
make bootstrap &&
cd gcc    &&
make gnatlib_and_tools    &&
cd ..     &&
make install
bash-2.05a$
