Well, I'll start the discussion by saying that the 3.x series seems to
be by the original maintainer ie: before the redhat guy. It appears he was
sparked into action when Rik van Riel started releasing the new 2.x series.

So while there is some maintainer activity with procps, maybe someone should
submit the LFS patch for integration into upstream source? Someone who
properly understands the problem?

And while we are at it, there is now no need for the XSCPT="" thing as
this has been removed from the Makefile.
