Actually it might be nice if there was a way to deal with something like
2.13.1b or 2.13b since alot of the GNU projects do seem to have a history
of using that type of notation for interm releases (bash for instance)
particularly for versions released on alpha.gnu.org  Not too sure how
hard that would be, just a thought.
