I'm not entirely clear on which branch this (similar) patch has been applied 
to. Will we see it in gcc-3.3 or 3.4?

Btw, what would be a good way to describe the value that the patch changes? 
All I understand from the text is that it binds the 'allocated_last_gc' value 
to 16MB to prevent memory expansion.

What does that mean in plain English?
