pointless -R on chapter 5 chown?

In the section "Adding the user lfs" the chown command contains the 
recursion switch -R.  But the directory $LFS/static has just been 
created and should be entirely empty.  The presence of the -R makes 
me wonder "Did I miss something?"

(I guess that the -R was unthinkingly copied from the other chown 
command when the keeping-separate hint was implemented.)
