object if you will, but if i may explain my view on the situation first:
i know full well that these changes make no difference to the final
executables. i actually include them because it makes for a tidier build
(less mess in the logs) and i just happen to be a perfectionist ;-)

i too actually compare two runs by comparing the filesystems instead of the
source dirs

in your opinion would including the aformentioned patches cause any problems
with the build?

nope actually i put an extra one in ;-) (it was a cut and paste snafu)
