AC_MSG_CHECKING(location of the passwd program)
if test -f /usr/bin/passwd; then
        passwd_dir=/usr/bin
else
        passwd_dir=/bin


I'm thinking a "touch /usr/bin/passwd" might do the trick here. A bit
hackish but the whole shadow package is a bit hackish IMHO anyway :-)
