This wouldn't be usable off-line, would it? In that case it's no 
solution for people who download the HTML tarball and/or save it with 
lynx and view it with mozilla (or vice versa).

To solve this problem while retaining all links, the best way would be a 
client-side scripting approach such as Javascript; unless browsers can 
do the client-side rendering with XSL themselves.
