udev is a complete non-issue here. udev does not impose any requirements
on the host that aren't already satisfied by the requirements to be able
to build NPTL (well, other than using kernel 2.6.3 or higher instead of
2.6.0/1/2, but who would use a non-current kernel anyway?).
