Since the __STRICT_ANSI__ define seems to be set I did the following:

<patch>
diff -Naur kdebase-3.5.2-orig/kcontrol/joystick/joydevice.h
kdebase-3.5.2/kcontrol/joystick/joydevice.h
--- kdebase-3.5.2-orig/kcontrol/joystick/joydevice.h    2005-11-26

 #include <qstring.h>

 #include <sys/types.h>
+#undef __STRICT_ANSI__
 #include <linux/joystick.h>
+#define __STRICT_ANSI__

 // helper class which holds all current values, file descriptor, etc. for
 // one device
</patch>

well, it works for me...
