In chapter 6, yes, it does. But chapter 5's su (which the current SVN
book copies to /tools/bin/su-tools) is not suppressed (probably because
we aren't root, so it doesn't matter). The hint hasn't been updated in
a while, so it still says to do the copying. The v6.0 book apparently
didn't create su-tools for the chapter-6 coreutils tests.
And I'm thinking that the patch has not always included disabling su,
but I don't know that for sure (and I can't prove it either). I seem to
remember that patch coming out of a request to get rid of the binaries
that we knew were installed by multiple programs, so maybe it did.
