build from UML Linux?

Just wanted to get the ball rolling on this in an effort to resolve this
ticket:

The question comes down to, 'Do we want to provide support for building
LFS from a UML system?'

I'm not sure that I'm qualified to speak much on this point, lacking
experience with UML. However, judging from Alex's reply on the ticket,
the issue appears to be solved easily enough with a proper CFLAGS
setting. Assuming that is all that is necessary for a proper build, I'd
be happy listing that special case in the FAQ and calling it done.

Anyone else have an opinion?
