Any reason you didn't use what's in the book?  The 6.3 book installs the
persistence scripts for both CD symlinks and network devices from the
udev tarball.  Do those not work for you?

The scripts from upstream don't have this issue.  ;-)

As I'm not sure what advantage they have over the stuff we already use,
I can't say...  :-)

(Note that the setup that we have in 6.3 will only work with udev <=113.
 We need to come up with something different for udev >= 114 (and the
development book), but that's an issue for anybody that install into a
chroot.  The scripts and rules provided upstream will still work after
the first boot, but pre-creating the rules inside a chroot has some
issues.  Anyway, I haven't had a lot of time to look into that yet.)
