WIP package updates

Hi all,

I'm running a little behind schedule here, so thought I'd pass on the patch series I'm currently building from on top of trunk.  All the patches are at http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~matthew/patches/ and the various updated fixes-patches are there too, for those that don't want to pull them from LFS-patches.  The 'series' file shows the order the patches should be applied in.

Hopefully this lets others that may be waiting on my promised changes work on top of them, and I really do expect to commit these changes tomorrow, once this build has completed (so far it's completed chapter 5 without issues).
