Since when it was impossible to compile cross - platform compatible code?

I do not understand your comment. If you were able to create the scripts 
through a web interface you would be cross platform again, for example. If 
you were able to make the framework run on windows to create the same 
scripts, that would be bad? Is it impossible?

Last time I checked, C++ compilers where available for Windows as well. 
Perhaps you misread.
