Patches for all outstanding 6.5 tickets

One tiny issue: The man-db change still includes a description of what
"col" is in the "configure arguments" section, but --with-col was
removed since it's installed now.  Maybe this was intentional?

Other than that, looks good to me (though you're the one that's done the
testing so far).  :-)
