I am talking about ch6.  Sorry about that.  I wonder if Jim's 
util-linux-ng patch may be the issue for me.  I deviated from the 
instructions and used it when compiling the rc2 based on his thread 
earlier (and of course, promptly forgot I did and did not mention it 
here either :)  I will see about that and get back to the list.
