It has already been applied in 4.16.7. I found it this morning, just got 
around to putting it in patches today and hadn't seen the release.

Yeah, pretty sure BLFS will not be as easy, but I had to jump back in 
someplace, figured a new GCC release was as good a time as 
any...certainly justifies a new build (and another to confirm all of the 
changes along the way). :-)
